Managing Director - Rod Oldfield

Rod Oldfield is Managing Director. He is an enthusiastic and experienced semiconductor industry professional having worked in all aspects of the semiconductor industry since leaving University with an honours engineering degree in 1978.

From University Rod started his long and illustrious career with Motorola Semiconductors, being involved in several ground breaking developments including the 68000 microprocessor. From Motorola he further advanced his career in the industry with Texas Instruments then General Instruments (now Microchip) before running the UK Operation for Temic (now Atmel) for five years.

Rod is a founding director of GarField Microelectronics Ltd which he set up in 1994. When GarField bought Matrics Ltd in 2006 Rod was appointed Managing Director of both GarField and Matrics, now known as GarField/Matrics.

Rod's main interests include skiing, fell walking and cycling and he is a keen supporter of his local village community.

Technical Director - Paul Garniss

Paul Garniss is Technical Director. Paul is a highly successful and technically experienced semiconductor professional. Paul graduated from the University of Durham with an honours degree in Applied Physics with Electronics in 1981.

Having graduated from university, Paul worked at GEC Meters, Smiths Industries and Matra MHS before helping to set up GarField Microelectronics Ltd.

Paul is a founding director of GarField Microelectronics Ltd. When GarField bought Matrics Ltd in 2006 Paul was appointed Technical Director of both GarField and Matrics, now known as GarField/Matrics.
